This Scientist position will serve in the conduct of assigned cell bank and vaccine manufacturing campaigns, including the development of cell bank manufacturing, engineering runs, optimization, management, interpretation and reporting of study data, and assuring the regulatory compliance of these projects. In addition, the candidate may directly supervise employees involved in the research and development of both internal and client testing procedures. He/She will provide operation management, technical support, and scientific expertise to the manufacturing department that includes mammalian cell banking and vaccine laboratories.
Responsibilities
- With guidance from senior scientific and/or management staff, function effectively as a principal scientist in the execution of assigned basic studies
- Responsible for overall supervision of study development and acquisition of study data
- Perform research to optimize both routine and high-quality protocols that pertain to vaccine production as well as mammalian cell banking programs
- Serve as a point of contact for the technical transfer of client-developed methods that pertain to vaccine production as well as the mammalian cell banking programs
Requirements
- Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in the contract testing and pharmaceutical industry
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
- Mammalian cell banking experience is preferred
- Full understanding of regulatory requirements of study types assigned, as well as Testing Facility SOPs
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in the use of standard software including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and with standard laboratory calculations and interpretations
